Over 20 years long stint of Altaf in exile is taking a new and according to some a final twist when Scotland-yard took him under arrests from his residence in London apparently for money laundering but some Pakistani journalists tweeting it to be linked with Dr. Imran Farooq's murder, with few other claiming two persons identified by UK are no more in Pakistan.

This arrest had raised serious questions about the future of MQM as it may split into different factions and there are reports of an internal fight had already begin. This may also lead to Musharraf assuming charge of MQM.

Almost all cases against him are quashed, but after the breakdown of his party into 3 different factions if Altaf and his party is able to bounce back.
